Heavy Gear blitz Northern Fire Support Squad, 2 Grizzlys, 2 Hunters and 1 Jaguar Gears
I finally got around to finishing some of the Heavy Gear kickstarter Plastic Jaguars. Decided on the armour colour and then getting it was one of the hardest part, partly due to the lack of guides or feeling like the ones I did find did not quite have the right armour colour I wanted. I was not 100% happy with the base colour of my heavy gear miniatures so decoded to try something else.
As you can see they are far less yellow than my last attempt and the use of washes does much to improve the finished result.
These are one part of the Northern Army Plastic set which costs about $60 US and has 14 models in total.
Paints
Reaper Dune Shadow (61104) with Citadel Reikland Fleshshade wash
Reaper Ash Grey (61126) with Citadel Nuln Oil Wash
Reaper Skunworks Gunmetal
Reaper Adamantium Black (09124) for the weapons and power plant
Citadel Mephiston Red
Reaper Sparkling Blue (09104) for the eye Lens
Secondly the plastic Kodiak to go with the Hunters. I much prefer the round non-slotted bases and will be considering using them in future for all models (or at least ones that don’t need slots)
I decided to get back on with painting some Heavy Gear Blitz miniatures. First up two Northern Hunters from the plastic starter set/army. I then tried a more yellowish scheme for the next 4
First the Xmas2014 Chibi. I never really though all that much of the idea, but having put it together and painting it, I am quite fond of it. And it was free after all. I think I would like to obtain the others at some point.
2 Stripped Down hunters, the weapon on the one on the left is probably not rules legal any more.
The Gencon 2014 Headhunter and a badly repainted wildcat This was originally going to be an arena gear but I decided to repose it to my northern force. The other wildcat is in my Nucoal force.
2 Plastic Grizzlys, an Aller Main Battle tank and two weasels
Another Long time occupant of my desk finished and another northern army paint scheme. This time back to more yellow than brown
Some of the smaller Northern Gears. We have 2 plastic Ferrets, 2 Cheetahs (1 is a Wild Cat), and two Metal Bobcats. The Plastic one have been given round bases. Two Ferrets with one in ground mode with a 32mm base Plastic Cheetahs the one on the right is assembled as a Wild Cat
A Leopard painted with contrast “Aggaros Dunes” which I think made a good brownish Northern Gear colour scheme.
